Behinds….

No, this is not motivation to kick too many today boys, nor a hint for you ladies to ‘lay off the Pies’…. (although Sir Mix-a-Lot might disagree- there’s always side bends or sit ups…)

Today it’s about celebrating the behind… the scene players! We often focus our attention on the show stoppers, leading goal kickers or those that look good in a dress (aka bodysuit!). But like any good wedding, there’s a lot of preparation and work that goes on behind the scenes and the camera’s not always there to capture it. We too often fail in thanking the personal trainers and yoga instructor that get us in to shape (coaches, trainers and runners), the caterers that prepare and serve the food (canteen workers and convenors), security guards that man the gate and the curators and cleaners that put a shine on the cutlery and keep the place looking spick and span.

Without our volunteers, the royal procession wouldn’t happen. So thank you to all the behind the scene players who have helped bring footy and netty to the grand stage of Lochiel! Sure we won’t be dining off of the Buckingham Palace menu or Royal Doulton crockery, but I can assure you- the food is served with the same passion, easy to hold on to while giving the royal salute and comes with fancy condiments and garnishes such as sauce.
