D Grade Netball Match Reports by Lisa Studham - 23 May vs Balaklava
D2 - Once again the D2 girls played a really good game. I was very happy that hardly anyone got picked up for stepping and noticed that the rules and positioning aspects are starting to make sense. Lucy Dixon played a great game at centre – well done. A big improvement by Olivia Carslake who really seems to enjoy the game. Brittany Berry had a great time shooting – that ring is a really long way up!!. Congratulations to Maddison Mellow who scored her 1st goal – great job Maddy. Chloe Hean has a smile on her dial the whole game and is a great team member who always listens to instructions. Kara Binka – great shadowing Kara, you will make a great defence player. Thanks to Alicia Patching and Haylee Studham who made up the team this week. They both had a great game and were very encouraging on court. Its a pleasure to coach such a happy enthusiastic bunch of girls – keep up the good work.
D1 - Undefeated! Yep, another win, well done girls. (13-2) Hummocks started well with Mikaela Lane-Watson and Haylee Studham doing a fantastic job together in goals. Zae Veitch played well throughout the game, especially in centre. Our defence line, Makayla Guerin, Alicia Patching and Katrina Price was excellent, they made it almost impossible for Balak to shoot – great effort girls. Tayla Williams is a key player and along with Sky Wolf made clear strong passes into the goal ring. Overall it was great team work and the on-court effort was fantastic.
Each of the "D" graders received a "net set go" pack this week, wow, they are great and the girls were all pretty happy. Thanks to the support and sponsorship of Balaklava Transport they were very affordable.
